Starting A Game

Once you have successfully logged in, you are ready to play!

To queue for a game, just click the button and you will be taken to the screen shown below.

Here is where you have all the options for the type of game you want to play. There are 15 different colors of chips and if you want to play with a specific color then simply click on that colored chip. A star will be displayed in the center of the chip to indicate that's the one you have currently selected.

You can click on a different chip any time before you click the  button.

If you don't care what color chip you play with then you can click the chip on the bottom right with the question mark and Chip will assign a random chip color for you. When clicking the chip with the qustion mark, it will show a red circle around it.

The advantage of allowing Chip to assign a color is that you may get queued into a game faster. Because if every player who queues for a 2 player game chooses the blue chip, they will all be queued separately. But if Chip assigns the colors, those players will each get a different color and be queued for the same game.

Again, you can click on a different color chip any time before clicking the button.

Next, you can choose whether or not you will be playing as a group of friends or family members. This is optional but if several players want to play together, this ensures they all get added into the same game queue. And, once everyone has joined, all players will get into the same game.

Only one player in the group should click the Start a Group checkbox. The player who checks the box will be provided with a group code to share with the other members of the group. (The code won't be provided until the player completes the rest of the steps to queue for a game.)

The other players in the group should enter this code (all lowercase letters) in the Join This Group box once the player who started the group shares it with them.

The next step for getting queued for a game is to the choose the number of players. Games can include anywhere from two to ten players. Note that if players are playing as a group, everyone in the group must choose the same number of players.

Finally, if you are not playing as a group, and you are ok with not playing entirely with other live players, Chip will allow you to play with up to 9 of his Chip Bots. Chip's bots are simply bots that will jump into a player's queue if allowed and if the players in the queue have been waiting for more than 5 minutes (currently 1 minute) since the last player joined the queue. Click the checkbox if you are ok with playing with some of Chip's Bots.

Note that when playing as a group, Chip's bots can't join the group.

Once you have made all your selections, you can click the button. This will take you back to the main game screen where you will be shown that you are queued for a game in the transcript box on the right.

If playing as a group, the player who started the group will see a six letter group code in the transript on the right and also in the instructions box below the game board. That player should share this code with the other players in the group so they can enter it in the Join this Group box, make their other choices, and click the button to join the group's game queue.
